Commissioned by the Indiana Music Educators Association for the 2011 Middle School Honor Choir, this exuberant festival opener begins with "Alleluia's" and building piano accompaniment introducing the lyric "Sing a mighty song, awake, arise ye voices." A celebratory 3/4 meter in F minor moving to G minor with descant sets the text that speaks of awakening our voices and the voices of heaven and earth.
